ISAIAH 4:2-6
The Branch of the Lord
I'm not sure if I got this right, but the impression I'm getting from the passage is about perseverance. Yesterday it was the Judgement of Judah and Israel and what will happen to them because of their frivolous ways. In the aftermath(nope it's not science) of the judgement there will be those who will be left behind in Jerusalem and they will be known as holy.
This is similar to the world we are living right now, where everything is about the instant gratification of one's self. What we want, we want right now! God will pass his judgement to us, and I don't think we could ask for an appeal. Temptation is around us... smiling, laughing, and tickling us to give in. Then there are those quotes that says that "the only way to get rid of temptation is to yield"... you have to ask yourself is it really the only way. Only is so absolute, and only the Sith talks in absolute, says the Jedi absolutely(must be a movie geek to relate). Kidding aside(behind or anywhere else) yielding is not the only option we have in temptation, there is always persevering. It is much more difficult but it is the one who builds more character.
Isa 4:2-6
2 In that day the branch of the LORD shall be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel.
3 And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy, everyone who has been recorded for life in Jerusalem,
4 when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by a spirit of burning.
5 Then the LORD will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be a canopy.
6 There will be a booth for shade by day from the heat, and for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.
