BLEAU WATERS

DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Isaiah 2:1-5
The Mountain of the Lord

This is what Shalom son of Uriel saw concerning the bible passage he read (I patterned how Isaiah introduces himself hehehe)... So, what did I saw or what did I read about?  In all honesty it kind of left me confused... I barely understood what the passage meant.  The words used were easy enough to understand but what does it really mean?  I'm not sure if it talked to me directly, I'm not sure if it has any application in my life.

The passaged talked about the Mountain of the Lord, was this an actual mountain? or was it metaphorical?  I am no bible scholar nor I am good in history or historical geography.  When was these last days that Isaiah talked about?  Last days of what?  Is he referring  to the end of the world? Or the end of an era?

I have a lot of questions, and not much of an answer.  Must I be concerned that I didn't have any epiphany and enlightenment as I read the passage?  What was written was very nice and very hopeful.  Something we need in these days of crisis.  If that is the case then I might have been wrong, I might have picked up a few words that mattered, something to hold by - "Come, O house of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord."

Isa 2:1-5
1  The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2  It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it,
3  and many peoples shall come, and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths." For out of Zion shall go the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4  He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.
5  O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the LORD.
